asbestos surveys, asbestos training courses
and asbestos consultancy onboard ships, drilling
platforms and other offshore structures.
After inspection and approval, Oesterbaai Engineers is authorised
to issue the necessary asbestos safe certificate. You can require
this certificate as part of the Green Passport, for
instance, or for visiting ports where the
authorities demand such a statement. An asbestos
survey can also be part of the HSE and/or Maintenance Plan.
SC540 asbestos surveys conducted by Oesterbaai Engineers
comply with the various IMO standards and satisfy the strict global
asbestos legislation.
Inventory of Hazardous Materials
The International Maritime Organization (IMO) has set international
guidelines to recycle ships and it's waste materials. The instrument is
the IHM Inventory of
Hazardous Materials (IHM). An IHM is a survey for dangerous materials
and substances attached to a ship and onboard. An IHM is important during
the whole life cycle of a ship. The aim is to guarantee a save way of
dealing with waste materials during actual building / construction, during
operation and during scrapping. This for as well the environment as labour
ambiance!
Oesterbaai has HAZMAT-experts who can carry out the IHM for you. A HAZMAT
is an educated and trained professional in carrying out an IHM conform the
latest IMO-standards. Oesterbaai also has cooperation with several IHM-companies
and laboratories for carrying out the IHM and the analysis on a worldwide
scale.
